List of The 50 Best Spiritual Awakening Books

Last Updated:

Reading just one book that changes the way you view the world can have a dramatic impact on your life.

This is especially the case if you have found yourself in the middle of a spiritual awakening.

Maybe a profound shift in consciousness happened in your life or you decided that you were tired of suffering and that there had to be a better way of living.

Essentially, a spiritual awakening is a shift in consciousness that impacts your way of being in a positive or profound way.

It’s a shift towards living in a more loving and less conflicted way. It’s truly embodying that point of view, not just intellectually thinking about it.

It usually happens spontaneously after a life-changing event, a near-death experience, an illness, a time of travel, a period of intense suffering, a contemplative meditation or prayer practice, a psychedelic experience, or anything that forces you to step outside of your “self”.

This post is a compilation of all the best spiritual books that someone can check out if they feel the pull to learn more about what they are experiencing or supplement their spiritual practice with wisdom that has been passed down through religious traditions and awakened people throughout time.

Table of Contents

What to Keep in Mind With Spiritual Book Education

Before we get into the list I just wanted to mention a few things to keep in mind on your personal awakening process.

I think it’s important to remember that books provide necessary inspiration and intellectual knowledge but they don’t take the place of real-life experiences and true experiential knowledge.

You can learn all you want from books but it won’t have an impact unless you are able to integrate the knowledge into your way of being.

Understanding must be combined with daily life practice to create change.

Your day-to-day living situations and consistent spiritual practices are where true growth happens.

A famous spiritual teacher Ram Dass once said, “If you think you are enlightened, go spend a week with your family.”
